Nobody likes paying their car insurance premiums, but it helps to know that, in 2012, Ohio drivers paid one of the lowest average auto insurance rates in the country.
According to a recent survey conducted by Insure.com, Ohio drivers shelled out an average auto insurance premium of $1,099 per year in 2012, which makes our average the seventh lowest in the country.
Other states that paid the lowest average auto insurance rates in 2012 were:
- Maine – $889
- Iowa – $985
- Wisconsin – $987
- Idaho – $1,011
- North Carolina – $1,022
- Vermont – $1,063
On the other end of the spectrum, Louisiana took the prize for the highest annual car insurance premium with drivers paying an average of $2,536, followed by Oklahoma with $2,047. So be glad you live where you do!
