According to a recent survey conducted by Insure.com, Ohio drivers paid one of the lowest average auto insurance rates in the whole country last year.
The standard, annual auto insurance rate for Ohio drivers averaged out at $1,106 for 2013, making it the fourth lowest in the country.
In 2012, Ohio was the seventh cheapest in the country, meaning over the last year it moved down on the list – which, in this case, is a good thing!
Other states that paid the lowest average auto insurance rates in 2013 were:
- North Carolina – $1,085
- Iowa – $1,028
- Maine – $934
On the other end of the spectrum, Louisiana once again took the prize for the highest annual car insurance premium with drivers paying an average of $2,699, followed by Michigan with $2,520 and Georgia at $2,155.
Nobody likes paying their auto insurance premiums, but it helps to know we pay less on average than most states. Just another reason why Ohio is awesome!
