Watch out, Dodge Caravan owners, your van tops the list of the most stolen cars in Ohio this year!
Every year, the National Insurance Crime Bureau (NICB) releases the results of their “Hot Wheels” study, a list of the most frequently stolen cars in the United States and in individual states. You may be surprised by which cars topped the list for Ohio in 2011.
Ohio’s 10 Most Stolen Cars for 2011:
1. 2000 Dodge Caravan
2. 1994 Chevrolet Pickup (Full Size)
3. 1996 Honda Accord
4. 1996 Oldsmobile Cutlass/Supreme/Ciera
5. 1999 Ford Pickup (Full Size)
6. 1994 Buick Century
7. 1998 Ford Taurus
8. 1998 Honda Civic
9. 2005 Chevrolet Impala
10. 1996 Chevrolet Pickup (Small Size)
Is your car on the list?
Just because your car is on the list does not guarantee it will be stolen. But it does make a solid case for purchasing comprehensive insurance coverage.
Comprehensive insurance covers your car if it is stolen or vandalized and will usually cover events such as flood, hurricane, fire, theft, or windshield damage.
